Known as “Nacho” in the poker world, Barbero has an impressive track record and is widely recognized as one of Latin America’s most prominent poker players. With nearly $9 million in live tournament winnings, he has established himself as a highly skilled and successful player in the industry. 

Rise to prominence

Barbero rose to global prominence in 2010 when he achieved the remarkable feat of winning two titles in that year’s Latin American Poker Tour, one in Uruguay and the other in Peru. This impressive achievement earned him the nickname “Back-To-Back Barbero” and also resulted in winnings of over $500,000.
 
While 2010 marked Barbero’s breakout year, he had already made a name for himself by participating in prior significant events. In 2005, Nacho achieved a runner-up finish in a side event at the EPT Barcelona, showcasing his potential early on in his career. By 2008, he had already cashed in five events at the prestigious WSOP in Las Vegas.

Barbero has become a familiar face on the high roller circuit these days, where he continues to make his mark. While he has secured victories in several noteworthy events throughout his career, the early months of 2023 were especially remarkable for him by reaching the final table in eight high roller events.
 
His run in the high roller circuit during the beginning of 2023 included notable achievements such as finishing in 1st and 2nd place at the Triton Super High Roller Series in Vietnam, where he accumulated total winnings of over $1 Million. Additionally, he secured a remarkable fourth-place finish at the Players Championship in the Bahamas, earning a career-high payout of $1,551,300.

Man of many talents

Barbero’s exceptional skills extend beyond Hold’em as he has proven to be a formidable player in Pot Limit Omaha as well. In 2023, during his remarkable run, he showcased his prowess by reaching the final table of the $25,000 PLO Championship on the PokerGO Tour. Additionally, he secured an impressive victory in a $10,000 buy-in PLO event, earning a substantial payday of $234,000.
