East Finals betting odds: Celtics vs. Heat
By Bob Garcia
After watching the Denver Nuggets get off to a 1-0 series lead the in Western Conference Finals last night, the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat get things going in the East tonight (Wednesday).
Boston is an 8.5-point home favorite in Game 1 at the Americas Cardroom sportsbook. The total is 211 points. Things will get underway at 8:30pm ET from TD Garden.
The series odds have Boston as the big -500 favorite and Miami +384. This might be a mismatch on paper, but the Celtics have not shown the killer instinct in these playoffs, going to six games against Atlanta in the first round and then escaping against Philly in Game 7 last round.
Boston is also just 2-3 SU and ATS in their last five home playoff games, after starting 2-0 SU and ATS. That could be a factor for anyone wanting to lay the 8.5-points tonight.
Remember, you also bet on how long the series will last. The favored scenario is it ending in five games in Boston.
5 Games +190
6 Games +250
7 Games +270
4 Games +360
And if you feel like you can predict the winning team and the exact number of games, we have you covered. Boston winning occupies the first four spots in the odds, so there could be some odds value in predicting an upset, like Miami winning at home in Game 6 (+1051).
Boston 4-1: +216
Boston 4-2: +363
Boston 4-0: +381
Boston 4-3: +395
Miami 4-2: +1051
Miami 4-3: +1159
Miami 4-1: +3470
Miami 4-0: +4500
