World Series odds updated before trade deadline
By Bob Garcia
The MLB Trade deadline is under one week away, happening at 6pm ET on Tuesday, August 2nd. But one team already made a big move last night.
The New York Yankees acquired outfielder Andrew Benintendi from the Kansas City Royals. He is batting .320 this season and is a very good all-around player, although his power numbers are nothing great at just three homers.
New York is obviously pleased with the addition, although will still be looking for some starting pitching before the trade deadline. Here is a quote from Yankees manager Aaron Boone.
“Benintendi is a great hitter. Gets on base at a really high clip. Hits from the left side so, yeah, gives you some balance.”
We’ve updated the World Series odds (see below) at the Americas Cardroom sportsbook after the Benintendi news. New York remains the small favorite over the Dodgers, with these top-5 teams distinguishing themselves from the rest of the league.
While the Benintendi acquisition doesn’t really move the needle much in terms of the odds, bettors need to pay close attention to all the action leading up the deadline as trades could really affect the odds of your favorite team.
