BetMGM is taking sports betting to the seven seas with Carnival Cruises

The sportsbook is making sure cruise passengers have a way to place their wagers

It seems that the growing industry of legal sports betting has extended its activities to the high seas. BetMGM and Carnival Corporation announced late last week an agreement to install betting windows on more than 50 US-based ships. With this, Americas Cardroom fans visiting the oceans will have no problem placing their sports bets.

BetMGM, its joint venture with MGM Resorts International, has signed a partnership with Carnival Corporation to offer iGaming, retail and mobile sports betting experiences to cruise ship passengers. Through this joining of forces, games will be available on more than 50 ships with ports in the US, spanning Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line and Princess Cruises. The BetMGM platform will be implemented in phases over the coming months.

BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt says the agreement represents a great opportunity for the company’s expansion and says, “We have found an ideal partner in Carnival Corporation and look forward to offering our sports betting and iGaming products to its millions of passengers.” Under the agreement, Carnival Corporation will offer BetMGM-branded digital and cash sports betting, as well as real-money digital gaming products aboard Carnival’s US-branded ships in international waters. In addition, BetMGM and Carnival Corporation will collaborate on joint marketing and promotional activations.

As many already know, cruise ships already offer casinos with slot machines, table games, and poker. However, Friday’s agreement comes to expand the experience with sports betting and online casinos, which will undoubtedly be extremely welcome news for gamblers enjoying a well-deserved vacation.
