This is where the New Orleans Saints stand following loss to the Dolphins

The Saints are between a rock and a hard place as the season starts to draw to a close

The New Orleans Saints (7-8), who now share the same record as the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings, saw their playoff chances take a huge hit after they fell to the Miami Dolphins 20-3 on Monday Night Football. With the Saints’ record now on their shoulders, they trail the San Francisco 49ers (8-7) and Philadelphia Eagles (8-7) for the last two wild card spots in the NFC.

Although the loss put them in a tough spot, there is still a glimmer of hope for the Saints to make the playoffs. For this to happen, the team has to win its last two games and have both the Vikings and 49ers lose each of their remaining games, and it would be ideal if the 49ers can’t come out on top in their game against the Los Angeles Rams.

On the other hand, the top four playoff teams battling for seeding could also have a positive influence on the Saints, as the Green Bay Packers (12-3) only have a one-game lead over the Dallas Cowboys (11-4), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11-4). and Rams (11-4). Still, there is no doubt that the wins have to come if the Saints really want to stay on track this season.

As long as the Vikings and 49ers each lose another game, the two wins needed by the Saints would be a more open path to advancing to the playoffs. It is not at all desirable for the Saints to finish tied with the Eagles for the last playoff spot since they would lose the first tiebreaker.

The results of all the teams involved could have a big impact on the Saints’ path, but the team needs to be at its best if it really wants to stay in this fight.
