Reno casino employee stabbed during attempted robbery

The Peppermill Resort Spa Casino employee didn’t suffer life-threatening injuries

Near-tragedy struck during an attempted robbery at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino in Reno, NV, this week. According to local police reports, an employee of that casino was stabbed after being involved in a robbery that took place while he was on his shift.

The victim reportedly received several cuts to his head Monday night during a violent incident that took place inside the property. Police indicated that the suspect was unable to flee the scene of the crime as he was apprehended within minutes of the incident. At this time, no further information has been released regarding the identification of the victim and suspect.

KRNV, a local television station, reported that the robbery resulted in the worker receiving several serious injuries at about 9 pm on Monday. Fortunately, the report indicates that the injuries were not enough to endanger the employee’s life; however, it remains unclear at this time what the reasons were for the violence at the casino.

This is not the first time that we receive unfortunate news like this, where innocent people who are simply doing their jobs in the casinos, get hurt by robbers who are looking for a night of easy money. Authorities ask local casinos to always have quick action plans in place to avoid these types of situations from happening. Both casino employees and visitors are always likely to be the main victims of this type of robbery, so it is necessary to always be extra cautious.

At the moment, it is not known where the suspect was taken to, but it is clear that he will spend the next few days behind bars while the investigation concludes and a possible sentence for the acts committed earlier this week.
