The tournament will kick off in exactly one week, when a total of 16 teams from North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa will give their best to battle it out for an accumulated prize pool of $100,000. Although this is WePlay’s first experience with this game, the organization assures to be ready to offer an event full of action and a good competitive atmosphere.
Teams such as The General NRG, G2 Esports, Team BDS, Team Vitality, Guild Esports and Sandrock Gaming will be part of this great event, which they claim to have been preparing for a long time to reach the final stages of the tournament. “We have no intention to stop developing: we continue to explore and discover new titles and areas of work. Rocket League has made waves among the esports community,” said Eugene Luchianenco, Head of Esports at WePlay Esports. “I am sure that the WePlay Esports Invitational Featuring Rocket League will pleasantly surprise the fans of the game with what our team has in store for the event.”
North America will be represented by a total of eight teams, while the other eight teams will come from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. It has been reported that teams from each region will compete against each other in a double-elimination bracket format. Should the entire schedule go according to initial plans, the final would be held on September 17. For those who don’t want to miss a single detail, an English-language broadcast will be available on WePlay Esports Arena Kyiv.
“We’ve organized many memorable major events so far at WePlay Esports, and we finally have a chance to do another in Rocket League,” Anton Tokarev, Lead Esports Manager at WePlay Esports, added. “It is a unique title with a special and passionate community behind it, and we cannot wait to show what we are capable of.”
