The New Orleans Saints will have a few players out for injuries this week

The Saints are still looking for solid footing as they deal with player injuries and COVID-19
The weekend is finally here, and that means only one thing, more NFL action. The New Orleans Saints are looking to bounce back from a recent loss and hope to get back on track heading into the season that has just begun. However, there may be a few hiccups for Sunday’s game, as there are still players reported to be injured and, therefore, may not be part of the starting lineup.
According to the initial report of the week, the Saints had eight injured players, and several injured from the previous week appeared to be making a positive recovery ahead of their Week 3 game against the New England Patriots. Safety CJ Gardner-Johnson (knee), corner Marshon Lattimore (thumb) and linebacker Pete Werner (hamstring) were limited Wednesday after missing Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
The only player reportedly unable to attend Wednesday’s practice was starting center Erik McCoy, who is still suffering from serious calf problems. The injury was the result of a bad play against the Green Bay Packers, which caused the player to miss the entire week leading up to the Panthers game. Now, point guard Calvin Throckmorton (knee) and rookie defensive end Payton Turner (elbow) are the two new players added to the Saints’ injury report. Both were limited mid-week after having key performances last Sunday.
Deep-lying PJ Williams is also another player who has been limited with a back injury. Initially, it was believed that he would not even be able to participate in the game against the Panthers; however, he finally put on his jersey and took the field. Injuries are an everyday occurrence in a sport like this, and that is where coaches have to maneuver in order to field a team that fits their style of play, even if they are not the usual starters.
