Inaugural Global Esports Tour begins today in Los Angeles

The event comes ahead of the Singapore 2021 Global Esports Games later this year

Los Angeles is making final preparations to host the first leg of the new Global Esports Tour today, which will take place over two days before the Singapore 2021 Global Esports Games later this year. Many players and fans expect today and tomorrow’s event to be full of good action. The Tour is reported to kick off with the online collectible card game Hearthstone.

Global Esports Federation (GEF) is the entity in charge of launching this year’s event and, according to reports, there is a prize pool of no less than $500,000. That prize will reach $1 million due to the GEF’s contribution to its social impact initiatives, a network of associations and different social programs that are aimed at developing eSports communities globally. The GEF has always sought to make eSports an inclusive sport and that everyone can always have the opportunity to participate in its competitions, no matter how low or high the resources are.

Among the latest updates also highlights the strategic partnership between the eSports company FACEIT and the GEF for eSports services. The intention of this union of forces is to help the organization to develop and organize events and tournaments. In the upcoming schedule, PUBG MOBILE and CS: GO will be hosting stages in October and November in Riyadh and Dubai, respectively. Fans who want to watch the action live can do so via YouTube and Twitch.

Should the schedule go smoothly, the Singapore Global Esports Games 2021 are expected to take place December 17 to 19.
