The New Orleans Saints suffer two more player injuries

Two tight ends are taken out of the lineup after suffering injuries
While getting another win against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday night is an extra motivation heading into the season, it has come at a steep price for the New Orleans Saints, specifically their tight end depth. There have been a lot of injury reports lately for the Saints, and the tight end position has been hit hard. The team just lost two tight ends, adding to the list of injured players that seems to continue to grow.
According to the latest update regarding this issue, tight end Adam Trautman had to be carted off during the midweek game with an ankle/foot injury, which has been causing the team a lot of concern. Trautman came to the team last year as a third-round pick, and after a less than stellar rookie campaign, the Saints expected him to give 110% in year two. Trautman’s injury is not the only bad news that comes as a bitter pill to swallow, as tight end Nick Vannett also suffered a knee injury, and the player is reportedly undergoing an MRI.
Many of us know that both players are considered to be the two best tight ends the Saints can currently count on, which puts the team in a difficult position once again as the start of the season draws nearer. With these two players out, for the time being, the way is open for Juwan Johnson to step in at the TE1 position and do his best to solidify his role on the team.
As if that wasn’t enough, many noted that tight end Garrett Griffin was also not a part of the players that participated in Monday’s game due to injuries, adding another banged up tight end to the growing list. This is not good news at all for the Saints, and while head coach Sean Payton can count on Johnson there is no way he can do it all on his own.
