The New Orleans Saints have now officially announced their starting quarterback

The Saints have determined who will be their go-to QB when the season starts
The wait that has had many New Orleans Saints fans anxious has finally come to an end. After the retirement of Drew Brees, many wondered who would take over the throne, and according to NFL insider Adam Schefter, that man will be Jameis Winston. The Saints’ decision to make Winston official as their new quarterback comes just days before the season kicks off, and many believe he will be able to deliver.
Reactions on Twitter began to explode, with many claiming that the Saints’ win over the Jacksonville Jaguars was a big deciding factor when it came to the starting quarterback position. Winston has proven over the past few months to be capable of taking the space vacated by Brees, which, while not an easy task, he will do so with quite the performance. Taysom Hill was the other contender for the job, but it appears he was unable to win the battle. While it is easy to assume that Hill will be the official QB2, there has been much speculation about how much we would see him do in a “gadget role,” as it was well known that his primary intention was to be a pure NFL starting quarterback.
On the other hand, in the midst of good news for the team in having an established quarterback, the Saints had to evacuate quickly after the threat of Hurricane Ida. The team was forced to take two commercial airliners last Saturday bound for Dallas-Fort Worth, where players and staff are now safely located. The intention is to stay there through midweek, but in case the weather situation worsens, they will use AT&T State in Arlington for practice.
