HALO’s back with Halo Infinite and new partnerships
By Bob Garcia
Competitive Halo Infinite returns to the eSports scene and is expected to be bigger than before
In an effort to bring back Competitive Halo Infinite, Halo has decided to partner with relevant teams in the eSports industry, such as Envy, FaZe Clan and more. The return of Competitive Halo is of great importance, and even more so when it returns in a meaningful way. The outlook is starting to take more shape now that the release of the latest installment of the series has been announced for later this year.
Following the news, which was revealed yesterday via the official Halo Championship Series (HCS) Twitter account, several major brands in the space have already said they are committed to participating in Halo Infinite once the first round of tournaments arrives. Envy, G2 Esports, FaZe Clan, Cloud9 and Sentinels are some of the teams that have started to show great interest in this event. This only indicates that Halo Infinite has already started its preparation on the right foot.
At the reveal, a minute-long trailer was shown in which the logos of some of the iconic brands in competitive gaming were shared. There are still a large number of rosters that remain undecided at this stage, as only four of the nine announced teams have decided to reveal their roster. It is still not entirely clear what the outlook will be, as the launch will not happen until December. However, the HCS team wanted to give a detailed explanation about this type of partnership.
“These Teams are investing significant funding into the Halo ecosystem and we want to ensure that the Halo ecosystem can give back financially to them,” the statement reads. “They’re going to be paying players, coach, manager salaries, creating entertaining content for fans to watch, and they’ll even have the opportunity of setting up booths at our events to spend time with the community. None of the investment funding is going to us, it’s all going to the community!”
It has been made clear that these organizations will have a special priority for content that relates to Halo Infinite and any cosmetic inclusions in the game.
