NFL insiders pick Alvin Kamara as among the top backs in the league
You don’t have to understand mathematical physics to know that Alvin Kamara is one of the fundamental pieces that the New Orleans Saints currently have for the upcoming NFL season. Kamara, in recent months, has received tons of gratifying mentions based on his great performances in the league and it seems to just keep on coming. Kamara’s exploits with the Saints have put him over the top, so much so that he has been put among the top running backs of the league.
Dozens of coaches, players and NFL front office executives were polled by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, and Kamara had a great result. During this poll, they were asked to rank the top players in their respective position groups, and when it came to running backs, Kamara was able to take second place. “If I was building a team, he’d be my running back,” one league executive told Fowler. “He’s the perfect modern back.”
Kamara was recently recognized for being the first and only player in NFL history to work so hard that he was able to rack up more than 5,000 yards as a running back and receiver during his first four years as a pro. In other words, you could say that this player is a versatile weapon that only the Saints have access to. His style of play has proven to be so great; he can frustrate any opponent through the air or on the ground, or even on his best days, both at the same time. The four-time Pro Bowler is one of two players (the other being Pierre Thomas) in Saints history to record over 2,500 yards as both a receiver and running back.
During this survey, Tennessee Titans bulldozer Derrick Henry was the one who managed to put himself on top of the rankings. The two will have the opportunity to compete head-to-head for the first time this season, so any fan should save the date and enjoy a showdown that will simply be out of this world.
