The popular angler admits to not being a “video game guy,” but is thrilled with his inclusion
The sport of professional fishing has now been translated into the new Bassmaster Fishing 2022 video game, where players will have the opportunity to play as their favorite professional angler. The good news is that the list of these anglers has now grown to ten with the addition of Keewatin’s Jeff “Gussy” Gustafson.
Gustafson said he is very excited to be one of the characters included in this new video game that will undoubtedly meet the expectations of all those who consider themselves fans of the sport. “I’m not really a video game guy, but it’s cool to be able to do that. It’s pretty nice; hopefully, it works well and people can have fun playing it. The producer of the game asked me if I wanted to be included in it and there was really nothing to do other than in the last year and a half I did some voiceovers for the game,” he added.
Having completed all the paperwork for his inclusion, Gustafson said he decided to share the great news with the public earlier this week, adding that he has received nothing but great comments from people. Reportedly, the game’s producer has gone to great lengths to give the game a realistic look so that players feel as if they are actually the fishermen. In order to achieve this real-life look and feel, countless pictures were taken of Gussy’s casting, in which he is holding his fishing rod and making generalized movements to recreate a unique and authentic appearance of each angler.
Should players wish to opt for the ultimate experience, they will also have the opportunity to access a selection of equipment from real-world sponsors. As if that weren’t enough, they will also have the opportunity to create their own angler and challenge the game’s established pros, which include such notable names as Buddy Gross, Carl Jocumsen, Hank Cherry, and more. Scheduled for release this fall, owners of consoles such as PS5, PS4, Xbox X / S Series, Xbox One family and Windows PC will be the lucky ones to get it.
