New Orleans Saints secondary coach to bring new talent to the team

Kris Richard is going to be a valuable asset to the team this season
For a long time, the spotlight has always been on New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton. However, it is quite important to highlight the work and value that former Super Bowl champion Kris Richard will now bring to the Saints’ defense. Having had a great history as a player and coach, there is no doubt that his experience is more than necessary in one of the most important departments of a team.
Richard was with the Seattle Seahawks (2012-2014) as defensive backs coach, and for the next three years, he worked as defensive coordinator for the same team. After that, he was with the Dallas Cowboys (2018-2019). doing great work as defensive backs coach & passing game coordinator. And this is just a glimpse of the resume that Richard has, something that comes at an opportune time for the Saints, especially after having had several weaknesses when it comes to the defense.
In his second season with the Saints, Dennis Allen comes with everything he needs to contribute to the team in his role as defensive coordinator, and he has made it clear that Richard is a key coach and a very smart decision. “He’s very competitive. He’s extremely smart. He brings a pedigree with him, a championship pedigree with him, that gives him instant credibility within that room. Just being around him for the last few months, and then really the last few weeks with most of our players, it’s been a lot of fun for me to be around him. And look, we come from few different backgrounds in terms of scheme and so I’m learning from him; hopefully, there are some things that maybe I’m picking up. I think he’ll be a good addition to our coaching staff,” he added.
There is no doubt that the Saints are moving all the necessary pieces in order to have another great season, which will hopefully culminate with the Lombardi trophy in their hands.
