The next NFL season is still months away, but two Saints are getting props to become MVP
With the NFL Draft just days away, the league’s next season is about to shape up. However, betting lines are already starting to emerge as to which players will be selected for the 2021 MVP, despite being months away from the first games. All New Orleans Saints fans can be sure that players from the team have a good chance of making the list. According to many experts and betting sites, running back Alvin Kamara and quarterback Jameis Winston have great odds of taking home the title.
According to the betting lines, it has been determined that Winston has a better chance at collecting the MVP award. Many people may find that a little strange due to the phenomenal year Kamara had last season. Kamara racked up over 1600 yards in total offense, 21 touchdowns and a fourth consecutive Pro Bowl selection, while Winston was only on the field for a handful of games last season. However, according to BetOnline.ag, Winston has 50/1 odds, while Kamara is listed at 66/1.
The quarterback battle for this season is going to be a close one, especially after the departure of Drew Brees. Jameis is believed to have what it takes to start for the Saints this year, but questions have been raised as to whether he can actually surpass the skills that Taysom Hill can offer. This only indicates that the value of that position on the team is one of great privilege.
While this individual award is of great importance, there is no doubt that the Saints have the full conviction to take home the most prestigious title at the end of the season, the Super Bowl championship. Based on the efforts they have made over the past few weeks, it is very likely that this team will go all the way to show what they are really made of.
