NFL Draft Odds: Who will be selected first?
By Bob Garcia
The NFL Draft is just one day away and the excitement is off the charts for football fans. Bettors are, of course, also interested in this 3-day event which has the first round taking place on Thursday
The Americas Cardroom sportsbook has you covered with an array of betting odds, including matchup props on ‘Who will be selected first?’
Here’s a look at some of the best ones:
Jaylen Waddle (-224) vs. Devonta Smith (+175).
This is the battle of two very talented Alabama wide receivers. I think Smith provides the better value at these odds as Miami could take him at No. 6 if both tight end Kyle Pitts and receiver Ja’Marr Chase are gone.
Jaycee Horn (-173) vs. Micah Parsons (+137)
Horn is considered the second-best corner in the draft behind Patrick Surtain. Parsons is the best traditional linebacker and should also go ahead of any edge player. I think Parsons is the better odds value and could even go No. 9 to Denver.
Travis Etienne (-264) vs. Javonte Williams (+204).
These are two of the top-3 rated running backs. Etienne has a good chance of surpassing Najee Harris as the first running back taken. I see Williams as the solid third among the trio, which means I’m taking the favorite at these odds.
Penei Sewell (-441) vs. Rashawn Slater (+316)
This prop bets actually reads: ‘First OL to be picked in the draft’
These are the top-2 offensive tackles. A few weeks ago, it seemed that Sewell was a lock to go ahead of Slater. However, the gap is rumored to be closing, although that could just be a lot of misdirection leaked from teams. Still, Slater is the better value at these odds.
