The poker player turns $25,500 into over $760,000 with the win
The arrival of the 2021 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown $25,500 NLHE High Roller event was apparently a huge success, as it saw a total participation of 145 entries. This surpassed by almost 50% its most recent run, which was held two years ago when only 99 entries were recorded. As is well known, the higher the participation, the higher the guaranteed prize at the end of the day. As a result, a total prize of $3,581,500 achieved, which is also considered quite an impressive figure. There’s no doubt that, after the arrival of COVID-19, many players were eager to get back to the tables.
Two full days were needed to crown the champion of this tournament, and after a hard-fought action full of great strategy and tactics, Chad Eveslage was able to prevail with the title and take home the sum of $767,576 after closing a three-way deal to bring the tournament to an end. Without a doubt, with this victory, the professional player was able to mark history in his live tournament career, surpassing his $148,380 that he earned after placing sixth in the $3,500 buy-in Main Event of the 2019 WPT SHR Poker Showdown.
Adding up all of his winnings, Eveslage now has a total of $2.3 million earned under his name. It looks like this is Eveslage’s year, as he has twice made it to a poker final table and managed to claim the title of champion on both occasions. After the scores obtained in both victories, he is now ranked sixth in the 2021 Player of the Year (POY) rankings.
When the final table was set, Byron Kaverman was in the lead, while Sean Perry was also having a strong performance. In the end, the three players came to an agreement to each get the remaining prize money and so it was that Eveslage, after being able to come out on top with several hands, managed to take down the top prize.
