By Bob Garcia
Our series of articles on NFL Draft odds at the Americas Cardroom sportsbook continues. In case you missed it, we started with who will be the No. 2 overall pick? You can read that here.
Now, we’re moving one spot down in our newest article.
Who will be the third overall pick in the NFL Draft?
Justin Fields, Ohio State (+205)
Penei Sewell, Oregon (+257)
DeVonta Smith, Alabama (+394)
Ja’Marr Chase, LSU (+394)
Zach Wilson, BYU (+431)
Rashawn Slater, Northwestern (+575)
Trey Lance, North Dakota State (+1663)
There are only three things definite in life. Death, taxes and that the Jacksonville Jaguars will take Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the first pick in the draft. That of course, is hyperbole but not too much. The Jets hold the No. 2 overall pick and I’m pretty confident they stay there and draft a quarterback, most likely BYU’s Zach Wilson.
That scenario leaves Miami at No. 3 unless they decide to trade down. If they stay put, the odds have them choosing between three quarterbacks, two wide receivers and two offensive tackles. I see wide receiver being the top choice, and I think that Ja’Marr Chase will end up going before DeVonta Smith when it is all said and done.
If Miami trades the pick, it’s going to be a team picking a quarterback. I think Wilson will be gone at this point, so that means a team is in love with either Justin Fields or Trey Lance. I think Lance could be an interesting long-shot pick here at +1663, but the most likely scenario is Miami staying put and drafting a wideout.
Best Value Pick: Chase (+394)
Worst Value Pick: Wilson (+431)
