Elements Casino Brantford to reopen next week (but poker room remains closed)

By Bob Garcia
Great Canadian Gaming Corporation, which operates a number of casinos across Canada, has announced that Elements Casino Brantford will reopen on Monday, February 22nd, 2021 at 10am ET. Its famous poker room, which is typically open 24/7 and features 14 tables, remains closed at this time.
While live poker and table games won’t be available, slot machines will be available to guests. The casino will be limited to 50 patrons and only those from regions not currently under stay-at-home orders will be welcome.
The government of Ontario has developed a confusing and inconsistent color-coded COVID-19 alert system. Some regions find themselves with looser restrictions due to lower COVID-19 rates while other regions, such as Toronto, are completely (comparatively speaking) locked down, with grocery stores and big box stores the exception.
With Brantford loosening restrictions that allow casinos to reopen, Great Canadian Gaming Corporation is choosing to open its doors once again, albeit with restrictions.
The reopening of Elements Casino Brantford brings the total number of reopened Great Canadian Casinos to 26.
In Ontario, the following properties remain closed: Casino Woodbine, Elements Casino Mohawk, Elements Casino Flamboro, Casino Ajax, Great Blue Heron Casino, and Elements Casino Grand River
In Ontario, the following properties are open with restrictions: Shorelines Casino Thousand Islands, Shorelines Slots at Kawartha Downs, Shorelines Casino Belleville, and Shorelines Casino Peterborough
On the East Coast, Casino New Brunswick, Casino Nova Scotia Halifax, and Casino Nova Scotia Sydney are all open with restrictions. And out west in British Columbia, all properties remain closed.
