Evil Geniuses forms a co-ed roster for Valorant

The eSports organization is the first to field a mixed team in Valorant

With Riot Games’ Valorant taking huge relevance in the esports regarding tournament offerings, it’s been recently announced that Evil Geniuses will join the fray. They’re introducing a co-ed team intended to compete professionally, becoming the first in the Valorant competitive space.

Two women and three men are on this team. Christine “Potter” Chi will lead, along with Nolan “Temperature” Pepper, Leksandar “Aleksandar” Hinojosa, Ronan “Osias” Javelona, and Claudia “Clawdia” Che. Chi has an awesome competitive background, as she is a seven-time Counter-Strike: Global Offensive world champion, and she has also been part of teams such as Res Gaming and CLG Red. However, this will be a new return for her into Valorant since she competed two years ago, so now she’s planning to come back strong with a team full of expectations.

When it comes to the rest of the crew, Javelona, originally from the Philippines, has gotten fame as a player after achieving some smaller tournaments with Mamba Mode Gaming.
On the other hand, Pepper and Hinojosa both played for Moon Raccoons while Che has been part of other smaller organizations. Evil Geniuses will join a team entirely composed of women called Dignitas, so this will leave events and competitions with women in leading roles.

Nicole LaPointe Jameson of Evil Geniuses made sure it was clear how the eSports group views potential candidates. In a Twitter post, she asserted, “To clarify for the people in the back that didn’t catch it the first time… I don’t care where you come from. Nor your creed, gender, religion, class, past industry, or sexual orientation. If you are the best of the best, you have a home here at @EvilGeniuses”
