Randy “Nanonoko” Lew hired as Security Consultant and Gameplay Expert
By Bob Garcia
We’re smack-dab in the holiday season, which might mean that you’re not fully abreast of everything going on at Americas Cardroom right now.
You probably did hear the huge news that our biggest tournament ever, the $8 Million GTD Venom, is starting on January 22nd with the first of its four Day 1’s. The winner will walk away with at least $1 Million and the final prize pool could reach eight figures.
But one item that recently happened could have flown under your radar. We have hired Randy “Nanonoko” Lew as a Security Consultant and Gameplay Expert.
Now, you might be asking yourself, why is the hiring of a security consultant news? After all, Americas Cardroom has lots of them, which help give our site the well-deserved reputation of upmost safety.
The reason is that Lew is one of the world’s most well-known poker players and Twitch streamers. He has over $1.6 Million in live tournament earnings, including a $484,617 first-place finish in the 2011 Asian Pacific Poker Tour in Macau. He is also known as one of the masters of multi-tabling online, playing up to 24 tables at once.
Lew’s duties here will include working with our security team on suspected fraud, collusion and bot activity. He will also review hand histories when the security team is forced to do an investigation and give us his expert opinion.
You may be wondering where and when you can see Lew at the Americas Cardroom tables. However, even though he’s an American, he now lives in Australia, which is not a market we operate in. Fortunately, he will be on hand to meet and greet players at major live poker events, including our very own Cage Live in Costa Rica. This event is expected back sometime in 2021 after being postponed due to Covid-19.
