The eSports competition company is going to hold a series of tournaments at its gaming centers
A number of online and in-person eSports competitions are coming up before the end of the year that will give fans and players a lot of hot action and many of these are going to be hosted by the same company. The Simplicity Esports and Gaming Company announced yesterday that it has put together a slate of over 50 events that are going to take place before Christmas, both online and in the company’s various eSports gaming centers. This could be a great way to close out what has otherwise been a stressful 2020.
Simplicity has over 20 gaming centers open, and all of them will host some type of event. Among the games to be included are Call of Duty, Fortnite, Minecraft, Madden and more, and registration costs anywhere from $5 to $25. Registering for a competition also includes a drawing for an XBOX Series X, according to the company.
Simplicity President Roman Franklin asserts, “We believe our recent acquisitions of franchisee owned esports gaming centers, and signing of percentage rent leases with landlords has given us a path to significant revenue growth in upcoming quarters and profitability. Continued engagement via tournaments and events is essential to maintaining long term relationships with the over 400,000 customers in our database. Some of our gaming centers are temporarily closed due to COVID-19 related government restrictions, but we will continue to host online tournaments to engage those customers that can’t visit one of our retail gaming centers.”
