Betting Pick: Miami Dolphins at Arizona Cardinals
By Bob Garcia
The Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals are each riding a three-game winning streak as they meet out west in Arizona this Sunday at 4:25pm ET.
This contest is being played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale. Only around 4,200 fans will be allowed into the stands according to the Cardinals official twitter account.
Arizona is currently a 4-point favorite at the Americas Cardroom sportsbook. The total is 48 points.
The Dolphins (4-3 SU, 5-2 ATS) won the first two games of this current winning streak with veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick starting. They then made the somewhat surprising move to start rookie Tua Tagovailoa at home last week against the Rams.
Miami won the game in impressive fashion, 28-17 as 3.5-point underdogs. However, the underlying numbers tell a different story. The Dolphins were outgained 471-185 in total yards, but forced four turnovers and also had a punt return for a touchdown.
Tagovailoa had some decent throws last week, but overall was 12-of-22 for 93 yards. Those kind of stats will not cut it this Sunday and it will be interesting to see how the highly-touted Alabama product performs in his first road contest.
Arizona (5-2 SU and ATS) is coming off a bye-week and has a three-game winning streak of its own (SU and ATS). Their last contest was a 37-34 OT home win over Seattle. That was the first Cardinals game to go Over the total this year after the first six went Under.
Quarterback Kyler Murray has been inconsistent at times this year and is going against a Miami defense that leads the NFL in points allowed (18.9 PPG) despite being 20th in yards. However, I think he easily outplays Tagovailoa in this one.
The Cardinals play in the toughest division in football (NFC West), and these kind of games are must-wins for them.
