The Las Vegas Strip continues to see rise in violent crimes

The new Las Vegas is not the same as the old Las Vegas as crime appears to be on the rise
Las Vegas casinos are usual targets for criminals trying to take advantage of the crowds and the massive amounts of money, and over the past couple of weeks, the wave of criminality seems to be spiking. Specifically, on the most popular part of Sin City, The Strip, the past few days have seen several shootings that have taken place at different casinos in that popular area. The latest event left one person injured in an overnight shooting at the Aria Resort and Casino on the Strip, according to police.
On Tuesday, around 11 PM, the police were called to the area due to several shots being fired following a dispute in the valet area of the resort. The incident left one woman grazed by bullet, and she was taken to a hospital nearby with a minor injury. The suspect behind the shooting has not been arrested yet, but some people on social media stated that this shooting happened in the middle of a birthday party for 29-year-old rapper MoneyBagg Yo, although this report was not confirmed by police. According to a report from the WQHT-FM radio social media account, MoneyBagg Yo is heard in audio saying he was in Las Vegas but that the shots fired had nothing to do with him nor his party.
This was the third incident reported to the police in less than a week. In another occurrence, two people were injured in a shooting right outside the Paris hotel and casino on Saturday. According to KLAS-TV, one person was shot five times; however, both victims are expected to survive. In the end, three people were arrested and charged in this shooting.
Amid the concern for the wave of criminal events, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said, “It’s just a lot of people in a small condensed area, and you infuse their desire to have a great time and infuse things like alcohol and drugs and it’s a bad combination.”
