Sports betting continues to heat up in August
By Bob Garcia
The sports world started getting back on track in July. August is even better with the NHL underway and even some College Football on the horizon. The NFL season will begin on September 10th after no preseason games.
We also continue to offer our popular Sports Sims betting. These are simulated sports games from titles like Madden NFL 20 and more.
Here’s a quick look at what’s on the slate during August. Click on “Sports” in the poker client for all the latest odds.
National Basketball Association
The NBA has had a very successful restart down in the “bubble’ in Orlando. The regular season will run through August 14th and then a 2-game play-in tournament (if necessary), followed by the playoffs.
National Hockey League
The NHL is currently playing Qualifying Series to see who makes the playoffs as well as Round Robin games for playoff positioning of the top teams. All games are being held in the two hub cities of Toronto and Edmonton.
Major League Baseball
The shortened 60-game regular season got underway on July 23rd, with teams like the Yankees, Twins and Cubs now off to a hot start. Every game is important from here on out, with the regular season running through September 27th.
College Football has seen some games postponed and cancelled due to Covid-19 but the season is still set to start on Saturday, August 29th. Keep checking back for when betting lines are available, including the matchup between East Carolina and Marshall.
Mixed Martial Arts
UFC 252 will take place on Saturday, August 15th from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The main card begins at 10pm ET and the Main Event is a heavyweight title fight of Daniel Cormier against Stipe Miocic. This is their third fight.
