Negreanu receives ban from Twitch for recent outburst
Kid Poker struck back colorfully after a comment was made about his wife
After the many physical threats that poker pro Daniel Negreanu made to a commentator who insulted his wife, he will need to look for a new home for his poker streams. The incident occurred during a livestream of Kid Poker’s performance in a World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online Series tournament, and his entire tirade was recorded.
The profanity-laced response he posted caused Amazon’s Twitch to decide to ban him permanently from using the streaming platform.
Negreanu usually streams every day of his participation in the WSOP Online Series at 6 PM PT, and now he is forced to take his audience to his YouTube channel and Periscope, as well. He played Event #27, $400 No-Limit Hold’em on Monday, but busted fast. The six-time bracelet winner – who is fighting to get his seventh bracelet – stuck around for a few minutes after he was busted to actually apologize for his comments on Friday.
Negreanu was defending his wife, Amanda, from a commenter named “Tom Estrada,” who threw an insult at his spouse. The comment was quickly deleted but Negreanu saw it, anyway. “It’s incredibly difficult to shatter teeth, and even for a practicing dentist, it’s even more difficult to place them in someone’s rectum,” the poker pro joked. After the jokes, he said that those vulgar comments directed to his wife were offensive, so he acted in a fit of rage. He added that “when someone comes at me with dumb s**t about my wife, it triggers me more than it should.” Negreanu issued a sarcastic apology three days after the occurrence where he said that he doesn’t think that “breaking a troll’s teeth and feeding it to them anally” is actually practical.
