Doug Polk sends a poker challenge to Daniel Negreanu to find out who’s the best
The former poker player wants to take on Kid Poker in heads-up battle
wo great ones in the poker world, Daniel Negreanu and Doug Polk, have had a dispute going on for several years now.
With the intention of determining who is the best player between them, Polk has finally challenged Negreanu to play a heads-up match against him. Maybe this is what Polk needs to put an end to this long-lasting rivalry between the two players that hasn’t even let Polk get some rest after retiring from poker last year. Polk is no fan of Negreanu and, even after retiring, he has continued to attack him via tweets and YouTube videos.
Retired and everything, Polk was one of the first ones to jump in to criticize Negreanu after what happened last weekend when the six-time bracelet lost it and published some nasty threats on a commentator who insulted his wife. Polk posted a YouTube video mocking Negreanu for his actions during a World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online event, even after saying that he was done making poker content.
Apparently, not making poker content and not giving a break to Negreanu are totally different things.
But now back to the challenge, “If this tweet gets 1k retweets I will come back to poker for a No-Limit Hold’em heads up for rolls grudge match against Daniel Negreanu,” wrote Polk in a tweet. “He won’t do it though; cause he knows he has no chance to win.” Nobody knows if Negreanu is going to accept the challenge, but at least, as proposed by Polk, it doesn’t seem like is going to happen. “Ok so I’m clear: You want to play the format you studied the most and I haven’t. You want it to be played online. And you want me to play 4 tables at the same time?” wrote Negreanu in a tweet. “Anything else? You want me to stream it too so you can see my hole cards?”
