Teams for PUBG Mobile World League East now confirmed
A new eSports competition is coming to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds
As the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile Pro League (PMPL) South Asia season one finals concluded yesterday, the final three slots remaining for the PUBG Mobile World League (PMWL) season zero have been filled. A total of 20 teams qualified for the first World League of this popular video game through different PMPLs and PUBG Mobile Club Opens (PMCO). The PMWL East will begin on July 10.
Box Gaming (PMPL Vietnam), REJECT Scarlet (Japan Championship), Yoodo (PMPL SEA Finals) and Morph Team (PMPL SEA Finals) are just a few names among the 20 teams that are getting ready to enter the PUBG eSports competitive scene. These teams represent the East Division of the World League that will run until August 9 with the starting time set at 7:30 AM CT – the Western division will begin at 2 PM CT. There are still some slots open for the Western division; therefore, the names of the participating teams haven’t been revealed yet. There is still one PMPL Americas pending and that is scheduled for June 28.
The total prize pool announced for the PMWL is $850,000, which will be spread across the first four teams in the competition. In general, the league has been running online-only due to health concerns caused by the coronavirus pandemic, so this season has been called season Zero. The first world league event of the 2020 PUBG Mobile World Championship season is being organized by Tencent Games. The World League East features teams from SEA, South Asia, Korea, Japan, and Wildcard.
