Poker Masters PLO Series proves to be a huge success
The events prove that PLO is just as popular as NLHE
Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) pros are enjoying an online series exclusively for them his week. Following the success of the Poker Masters Online Series, the Masters Online PLO Series comes in, featuring a $10-million guarantee event. The tournament series comprises 15 events and three of them already concluded. There are several great names in the professional poker scene participating in this series, which has already proven to be a huge success with players.
Event #1 $10,300 buy-in PLO $500,000 GTD drew a total of 72 players, which was enough to surpass the $500,000 guarantee for this event. Marcello Marigliano, the winner, took home the top prize of $249,053 after he beat Gavin Cochrane in the final heads-up match at the final table.
Another pro player who had a great performance during Event #2, and who has captured the rail’s interest, is the Swede, Viktor Blom. He gave a spectacular performance at the recently concluded Super High Roller Bowl, and made it to the final table of the $5,200 event. Cochrane was there, too, and has made it to the final table during these last two events he played. Ultimately, that title was taken down by the pro player Andras Nemeth, who proved to be stronger than Blom and took down the event and his first Poker Masters PLO Series title.
The third event played already was Event #3, a $10,300 buy-in, $500,000 GTD tournament that displayed great poker action by many pro players. This event registered 53 entries and it was played in two days. Even though Jonathan Depa emerged as the dominant lead most of the tournament, the winner was Jens Kyllonen, who started the second day weak with a short stack. However, he was able to bounce back to win the top prize.
