New poll reveals the video game character most gamers would like to be

A casual poll conducted by Nintendo Dream provides interesting results

The Japanese magazine Nintendo Dream has recently concluded a new poll in which fans were asked to select their favorite Nintendo character in terms of who they would like to play as. The results were published in the magazine this month and are in favor of Mario’s brother, Luigi. Luigi registered a clear dominance by winning with 124 points, which is way higher than Kirby, who ended up second, but with only 54 points from the readers.

Other characters who made it into the poll in the following places were Isabelle from the Animal Crossing series, King Dedede from the Kirby franchise, and Claude von Riegen and Bernadetta von Varley from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The fact that Luigi was introduced as a secondary character to Mario in the Super Mario games, but has garnered so much popularity, is interesting. Apart from being selected in the poll, he has also been featured alone in many Nintendo games, including the popular Luigi’s Mansion franchise, which has launched its third title already. All games released as part of this franchise have earned nothing but praise from game critics and fans. These results from the Nintendo Dream poll ranking placing Luigi at the top could pave the way for more games to be released in the future in which Luigi has mainstream participation.

In this poll, besides the question about the playable character, participants were surveyed about the most popular characters and most anticipated games for Nintendo. In this case, the first place went to Kirby. Other characters who made it were Isabelle from Animal Crossing, Mario from Super Mario and Link from The Legend of Zelda.
