Washington Redskins star faces additional charges after poker game outburst

Cody Latimer’s late-night drunken antics won’t be dismissed so easily
No one can yet explain what caused Cody Latimer to suddenly go off on a bizarre attack during a poker game last Friday night, but more information is beginning to come to light. Unfortunately for the Washington Reskins wide receiver, he is now facing some serious charges after what happened, and the incident won’t be swept under the rug. Apparently, he pulled a gun out during the poker game and threatened to “kill everybody” and is now facing a slew of charges.
The incident ended with the police getting to the scene due to possible shots being fired around midnight, leading to the arrest of Latimer, who is facing the following charges: assault in the second degree, menacing behavior, illegal discharge of a firearm, prohibited use of a weapon and reckless endangerment. However, it may have been a lot more than just a poker game gone bad, and Latimer’s explosion may have been triggered by something more personal.
Based on the information that has been shared, Latimer’s four-year-old son was sexually assaulted by an individual who apparently was playing poker that night. “At today’s hearing, Cody Latimer’s attorney, Harvey Steinberg, told the court he was contacted by law enforcement concerning an investigation of a sexual assault of Latimer’s 4-year-old son allegedly perpetrated by an individual at a weekend poker game,” reported sportswriter Adam Schefter.
According to the initial police report, Latimer got into an argument with the individual, which caused English to throw everyone out of the house. After that, Latimer returned to English’s home with a gun and threatened to kill everyone. He was able to calm down for a second and even emptied the magazine and cleared the chamber; however, his rage was back, and he fired off two shots from his gun.
According to his lawyer, there is much more to this matter than what was first suspected, “There’s an entire back story to this situation that constitutes one of the most highly provocative situations you can imagine. Please withhold judgment until all the facts of what took place that night is [sic] known,” said Latimer’s attorney to Schefter.
