Global Poker’s Grizzly Games finds a few new winners
Over 156 events awarded trophies and Sweeps Cash worth more than $1.1 million
Global Poker concluded another edition of the Grizzly Games, and the final day was loaded with a handful of main events. The online poker site gave away Sweeps Cash (SC)1.1 million in guaranteed prizes, and the Sunday events included a prize for up to SC170,000. The last day of action in this poker series was on Sunday, February 23, and Grizzly Games come with over 156 events that granted trophies, as well as the prize money.
One of the lower buy-in events for the Grizzly Games was full of action in which ‘Smokinandgrindin’ won among a field of 1,146 entries and scored a SC3,816 prize. Another event, with a slightly higher buy-in of SC110, came with SC50,000 guaranteed. For this event, there were 535 players who entered the tournament, so the actual prize pool was reported at SC53,500. The champion for this event, South Carolina native ‘DonkAlert,’ took home the biggest prize for any event of the series, collecting SC10,031. With double the cost of the buy-in – for SC218 – another main event ran successfully with a total field of 291 entries. The total prize pool was then reported at SC118,200. The lucky winner was from Massachusetts, and he took home the first-place prize of SC22,103.
Next on the agenda for Global Poker is the Tournament of Champions, which will be taking place on Sunday, March 1, at 2 PM EST. For every player that finishes first in one of the events offered in this series, he or she will also earn a ticket to play the Tournament of Champions. Among other prizes, there is also the possibility of earning a prize package worth SC5,000 to represent Global Poker at a live poker tournament.
