Could Tom Brady end up with the New Orleans Saints?
One NFL analyst believes the Patriots stalwart would be a good fit in the Big Easy
Veteran quarterback Tom Brady has been with the New England Patriots so long that it is hard to think that he might be lining up with another team. For the first time in his career, he is about to become a free agent, and this opens up all kinds of possibilities for him, and for other teams. Ever since the Patriots lost the playoffs against Tennessee Titans in January, there has been plenty of speculation about the future of the Pats’ starting quarterback and, according to an NFL analyst, Brady Quinn, who spoke during a CBS segment this week, there is a scenario in which Brady could end up with the New Orleans Saints.
“Maybe there are some other scenarios out there too that we haven’t necessarily contemplated, like some good teams that maybe he’s looking at and is like ‘if I gave that head coach or owner a call, they’d be open to discussing the potential of me becoming their quarterback’ … There was a team mentioned last night … The team I heard mentioned was the Saints. Let’s say they offer Drew Brees a number that he doesn’t like, it looks all of a sudden like a really, really attractive team if you put Tom Brady behind that offensive line with Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, you add another piece, and they have Jared Cook,” explained Quinn.
He added, “That defensive didn’t play great toward the end of the season, but it’s just one of many scenarios with a good football team where … maybe something doesn’t work out with Drew Brees. Maybe they’d be willing to go to Tom Brady. Maybe he’d be willing to go to a place like that … plus, think about this, you’re playing in a dome.”
Drew Brees has been the Saints quarterback since 2006 and, after a lot of speculation, he decided to continue playing for the franchise at least this 2020 season. After a post-game interview with Brady, he said that he doesn’t know how the future looks like or if it can be predicted.
