The XFL could get its own video game
Perhaps this is the year the XFL finds its place in the football world
Video games based on sports are one of the most popular selections and each sports fan is hoping that the league they follow also brings a video game to market. This is the case for the XFL, for which fans have been asking for a video game ever since the league was announced. Nostalgic about the days of NFL2K, fans are waiting for 2020 to bring a new game for the XFL to the football market and their wait might be coming to an end sooner than expected.
It seems to be the XFL is currently in deep negotiations aiming to come out to market with a league video game, hopefully by 2021 or 2022, making it available for the next generation of consoles. The only other details shared by Sports Gamers Online was to confirm that an experienced developer is involved. Besides PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, the game will also be out for the current systems, though a discussion took place whether it should be a new generation-only game.
Of course, the league is looking into having this game ready as soon as possible. The first option will be 2021; however, it might have a late launch during the fall with the possibility of extending until the beginning of the second year of the XFL league. So, most likely this game would be launched in the first quarter of 2022, which will be right on time for the league’s third season, a rather less crowded time period when it comes to releasing games.
