WSOP announces dates for the 2020 Las Vegas games

The next rendition of the popular poker series is coming in just a few months

For those who were still waiting on the holidays to bring with it the dates for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) summer dates, the information is here early. Unlike last year, in which the WSOP dates were announced on December 20, 2018, this time the organization of the event will probably be taking longer holiday vacations, since the dates were published yesterday. Both the opening and closing dates were released, including the schedule and agenda for the key events in the series, such as the WSOP main event.

If the WSOP Event in Las Vegas is on the poker agenda for next year, then save the dates. The 51st event of WSOP will start with cash-game action, and the doors will be opened starting Tuesday, May 26. Besides cash games, the first event that awards a bracelet will take place the very next day on May 27. The closure of the series will be by July 14, at which time the final table for the main event will be played. One last day of cash games will also be available on July 15, for those who could not get enough in the 51 straight days of poker action that the WSOP organization will offer.

Just as with previous years, but not for much longer, the WSOP series will be hosted in the same Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, where they have been held since 2005. There is a change of situation, though, as the Rio hotel is about to change owners in a deal that was made public recently; however, Caesars Entertainment will continue to manage the facilities for at least two more years. Confirmation from WSOP VP Corporate Communications Seth Palansky provides reassurance that the 2020 event will happen in the same Rio convention space.
