Seattle’s Call of Duty team gets a name
The Seattle Surge is the latest team to get into Call of Duty
Finally, Seattle’s new Call of Duty League team has come up with a name. The Seattle Surge is the name chosen for the team, finally giving it a real identity.
Canucks Sports & Entertainment, in cooperation with their new partner, Enthusiast Gaming, announced along with the name the logo and branding for the Seattle Surge. Colors include Midnight Blue (primary) and Pacific Blue (secondary), accented by Electric Turquoise, and Grey. This league is the official one that comes from the publisher Activision.
This coming season of the Call of Duty League will have 12 teams located in four different countries. The first part of the season will have on the spot the best Call of Duty players in the world. The league will begin in 2020 with the intention of offering additional and new ways to come together from any origin. Pro players, amateurs and fans will be having more options to meet within the game.
With Joey ”Nuzby” DiGiacomo taking the lead of the team, last week the Surge announced the newest members, Sam “Octane” Larew, Josiah “Slacked” Berry and Bryan “Apathy” Zhelyazkov. This team combined has over 50 major wins in tournaments and, along with other Pacific Northwest franchises, will join a family of other Seattle sports organizations, such as NHL’s Vancouver Canucks, the National Lacrosse League’s Vancouver Warriors and the Overwatch League’s Vancouver Titans.
