New Orleans Saints head coach puts condo up for sale
You can own a piece of New Orleans history
New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton is looking for a change. It could be a change of scenery or just a change of living conditions, but, either way, he has put on the market his condominium in Orleans Parish. For $2.3 million, you could own a piece of Saints history.
The condo has three bedrooms and three baths. Payton purchased it in 2014 for $1.4 million, eight years after being recruited by the Saints. It measures 2,885 square feet and sits about three blocks from Audubon Park, putting it in an ideal location. It also happens to be one of only 12 condos that reside in the former LaSalle Elementary School.
Payton would go on to spruce up his home, hiring interior designer Shaun Smith to decorate the place. Quartzite counters and Kravet draperies adorn the home, and there’s even a walk-in closet that was designed by The Amandas, which has been featured on Better Homes and Gardens, HGTV.com, the Today Show and many more.
The condo has been a place to get away from it all and has also served as a refuge. After refs destroyed the Saints’ chances of heading to the Super Bowl last year, Payton retreated to his master bedroom. He told the press at the end of last season, “After the game, much like normal people, I sat, probably didn’t come out of my room, I ate Jenny’s ice cream and watched Netflix for three straight days.”
