LA Rams @ Seattle Seahawks Betting Breakdown
Owner of some of the worst home/away splits in the league, Jarred Goff will look to lead his team to victory this week in a situation – away game vs a team with a winning record – that saw him go 0-4 against the spread (ATS) last season while putting up a horrific quarterback rating of just 82.7 compared to 116.7 at home. In fact when these two teams met in the same week 5 last season, the Rams – who came in as 7.5-point favorites, narrowly escaped with a 33-31 win thanks to a field goal with 6 minutes left, even with Goff throwing 2 picks compared to only 1 TD and finishing the game with a QB rating of 88.2. And while they ended up winning the game, that spread-loss took the Rams’ record to just 3-9 ATS over their last 12 playing in Seattle. And with the LA secondary getting exposed by an only slight-above-average Bucs team last Sunday, I like Goff’s road struggles to continue this week against a Seattle team that always seems to to find a way to win in games the public gives them no chance in. That’s why, although the Hawks’ own secondary issues might make the over the bet to attack this week, I’ll be siding with the home team in this one and looking for Seattle to come out with a win against the defending NFC champs.
