Illegal poker game leaves four dead
The attack took place this past Saturday in New York City
Police are investigating a shooting that took place this past Saturday in New York City that resulted in four people being killed. The incident took place at an illegal poker game that was taking place at the Triple A Aces catering hall and about the only thing that’s known is that a disgruntled gambler fired 15 shots before ultimately being killed by a security guard. That guard was one of the victims who died during the melee.
37-year-old Chester Goode died at the scene after receiving a fatal shot to the head. He was reportedly playing at the hall before taking out a gun and firing a shot at the ceiling. He then ordered everyone to get on the floor, but it still isn’t clear if he was planning on robbing the place or if he had some other reason for the attack.
At this point, the security guard stepped in and this is when the shooting really began. Goode was a regular at the venue and, in the subsequent shootout between him and the guard, two of his friends were also killed. A law enforcement source said after the incident made the news wires, “The three guys had been playing for more than an hour, and they were losing money. There was some big money there, even though it was a crime scene, there were some hundred-dollar bills still lying on the floor.”
Three others were wounded in the exchange of gunfire and taken to a local hospital. An eighth victim had to be treated for a broken leg that he sustained when trying to flee the scene.
