Halloween Terror 2019 starts today
Today kicks off three weeks of Halloween-themed Overwatch fun by Blizzard
Blizzard Entertainment’s Halloween-themed Overwatch event is back. Halloween Terror 2019 starts up today and will run for three weeks and will include the popular wave-based cooperative mode, Junkenstein’s Revenge and the standard spooky skins and sprays, as well as some new twists. The eSports event is gaining a lot of interest with gaming fans and is quickly becoming one of the most highly anticipated events of the year.
According to Blizzard, “Team up with three other players and face off against a host of horrific enemies, including Junkenstein and his Monster; the mysterious Summoner; the Reaper; and the Witch of the Wilds.”
The event was only announced yesterday, marking a change from the normal week’s notice that Blizzard gives when it is going to launch an event. The company has been relatively silent on what it plans on including this time around, as well, as a possible attempt to draw out curiosity from more gamers. Last year, Blizzard brought in new character skins and a new haunted version of Chateau Guillard, its deathmatch multiplayer map, as well as two additional characters, Tracer and Brigitte.
The Halloween action will be available until November 4 and its introduction coincides with Overwatch’s release for Nintendo Switch, which has been a long time coming. It’s possible that Blizzard decided to tie both into one launch in order to avoid having to roll out two versions of the game so close together. It also comes at the same time Blizzard is launching another game update, which it has previously states was a remastering of the previous version.
