“7 Days to Vegas” movie finally released
The Vince Van Patten flick announced a year ago released in limited theaters
Over a year ago, word got out that WPT commentator Vince Van Patten was working on a movie. At the time the title was going to be called Walk to Vegas, but someone decided “7 Days to Vegas” made a better name. The movie has now been released and is apparently a must-see for poker players, as well as gamblers.
Van Patten wrote the script, along with Steve Alper, and stars in the lead role as Duke Madson, a casual poker player in Hollywood that makes a unique prop bet. He has to walk from LA to Las Vegas in seven days (hence the name) and this is where the story gets really interesting.
Starring in the film alongside Van Patten are a number of well-known poker figures, including Mike Sexton, Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari and Jennifer Tilly. Moviegoers can also catch Ross McCall, Don Stark and John O’Hurley as they add character to the plot.
Todd Brunson has already checked out the movie, stating on Twitter, “Went to the Vegas premier of: ‘7 days to Vegas’ last night. This is a must see for any poker player/gambler. @VinceVanP_WPT really did a great job. Guaranteed gambling cult classic.”
Ali Nejad also had good things to say after he saw the movie, saying in a tweet, “So proud of @VinceVanP_WPT and his brother Jimmy (w/ the support of @WPT studios et al) for producing a super entertaining movie. #7DaysToVegas screening was awesome & definitely worth a watch even for non poker/ gambling insiders.”
7 Days to Vegas was only distributed to a handful of cinemas, so catching it on the big screen might be difficult. However, it is readily available on iTunes and Amazon Prime.
