Former NBA star gets behind eSports company
Kevin Garnett has invested in Triumph Esports
Kevin Garnett was a major force on the basketball court before retiring. He was named an NBA All-Star 15 times during his career and parlayed his good fortune into a winning event management and production company once he left the game. Big Ticket Sports LLC has become a success story of its own, creating Hoop It Up and Kick It Soccer, three-on-three competitions in basketball and soccer, respectively. Now, Garnett is using his vast sports knowledge and deep pockets to get involved in another sport. Like other NBA greats such as Magic Johnson and Shaquille O’Neal, he is getting into eSports and has teamed up with Triumph Esports for a new partnership.
Triumph is a multi-faceted eSports organization that is behind Triumph Gaming – with team sin Overwatch , Apex Legends and Teamfight Tactics – and Rivalcade, an outfit similar to Big Ticket. Through the new partnership, Triumph will introduce eSports to the Hoop It Up group.
Garnett is confident the new arrangement will be mutually beneficial, stating, “Our relationship with Triumph Esports is a natural fit as we look to showcase and elevate shared lifestyle experiences through competition, content and live events. Our vision is to create unique experiences that impact our fans across a variety of passion points.”
The CEO of Triumph shares the 2008 NBA champion’s enthusiasm. Scott O’Leary adds, “We are very excited to work with Hoop It Up as they converge basketball, music, esports and the urban lifestyle at their events. We look forward to working together to engage our fans and players in new, collaborative and creative ways.”
