OpTic Gaming fails to impress at Call of Duty World League Finals
The team didn’t take a single map during the games
The Green Wall, aka OpTic Gaming, may have a substantial following in Call of Duty (CoD) because of past performances, but it didn’t bring its A game to the recent CoD World League (CWL) Finals. The team’s extremely large fan base was left disappointed as the eSports group tried to find its rhythm at the CWL Miami Finals, only to come up short every time. OpTic wasn’t able to win a single map during the competition.
OpTic received its Green Wall nickname because of its green color scheme and because it left other squads green with envy. This time around, though, the color was yellow as it was eliminated on Day Two with a straight 0-3 record.
The team climbed to the top of the charts in 2017 after winning every single event, including the championship. It didn’t manage to score a first-place victory last year, but had already cemented itself as a major force in the CoD world. However, it won the Las Vegas Open at the end of the year as the Black Ops 4 season got underway and has seen decent success – until now.
OpTic still has a spot at the upcoming CWL Championships in LA next month and will have to work hard if it plans on regaining its status. It has already lost its seed because of the recent performance and climbing back up the charts won’t be easy. However, OpTic fans are loyal and are putting their faith and energy into the team in an effort to motivate the squad back to victory.
