Guestlist for crypto’s lunch with Warren Buffett almost complete
The list continues to grow, but it isn’t yet done
After winning an auction to have lunch with billionaire Warren Buffett, Justin Sun set out to create the who’s who of cryptocurrency to share the event. By the time their meeting is over, the founder of the TRON digital currency hopes that the attendees can convince the diehard crypto opponent that he’s wrong in his view on the future currency. The list of those set to attend the luncheon is growing, but a couple of more additions are expected before the group gets together in just a few days.
According to multiple sources, the CEO of crypto payments solution Circle, Jeremy Allaire, is going to be present at the gathering. He will be joined by the founder and CEO of eToro, Yoni Assia, who was requested to join yesterday. Adding to the group, the founder of Litecoin, Charlie Lee, has been on the list since early last month. The head of the Binance Charity Fund, Helen Hai, is also expected to attend. Since the auction allows for a total of eight, Sun still has to fill several seats without much time.
The lunch date is expected to take place in three days at Quince, a San Francisco-based three-Michelin-star restaurant. Sun paid $4.57 million in a charity auction sponsored by Buffett and his Berkshire Hathaway group to benefit the Glide Foundation, an organization that provides benefits for “qualified organizations committed to animal protection organizations, other land and wildlife conservancy groups, agricultural purposes, preservation of land in its natural state, and opera, symphony, and other similar civic organizations,” according to its website.
When it was announced that Sun had the winning bid for the auction, Buffett was quoted as saying, “I’m delighted with the fact that Justin has won the lunch and am looking forward to meeting him and his friends. We are going to have a good time, and Glide will use his contribution to help many thousands of people.”
