DC Comics-based video game in the works
The details of the upcoming game are still a little sketchy
DC Comics and Warner Bros. might be teaming up for a video game. A collaboration between the two isn’t too surprising – the two have an almost permanent relationship – but the timing of the unofficial announcement wasn’t related to any big release. All that is known so far is what was released by game designer Osama Dorias, who works for Warner Brothers (WB) Montreal.
A recent Twitter thread sought input from video game developers who might be willing to release some details on their projects. The original poster, Sarah Longthorne, was looking for the genre, the theme and the inspiration for the game, and Dorias let the cat out of the bag. The developer, who goes by the Twitter handle Osama Drama, would only offer one of the three details, saying that the game being crafted was part of the “DC franchise.”
That lack of detail certainly leaves a lot of possibilities. WB Montreal studios has been involved in other DC-based games, such as Batman: Arkham Origins and Batgirl: A Matter of Family and there are rumors that the new game could continue in the Batman franchise. The company has dropped hints on social media about a new Batman-based game coming, but has never confirmed any actual details about the product.
It’s possible that the game will be based on the Court of Owls storyline, but this is based solely on rumors and unverifiable mentions. Until something more solid comes from WB or from DC, gamers will have to sit back and wait, eager to learn exactly what’s in store.
