2019 WSOP ME Day 2AB Intro
The 2019 World Series of Poker looks to erase Friday’s Twilight Zone-esque action that saw two disqualifications, a field near 5,000 players and an earthquake that interrupted play in Level 4. Despite all the craziness the surviving players from Day 1A and 1B join for their Day 2 flight at 11 am Saturday.
Across the first two flights there were 3,248 entrants and 2,383 return for five levels of action. Across all three flights the field stands at 8,127 players and can still grow. Late registration is open until the start of play for Day 2AB and players can still enter Day 2C until the start of play Sunday.
Bryan Campanello leads the overall field at the start at the only player to cross the 400,000-chip mark with 417,500. Filling out the top ten are some familiar names like Adam Owen and Asi Moshe, but the most surprising name to find at the top of the counts is famed poker nit Allen Kessler with 301,800.
The broadcast for the action skips over the opening levels on Saturday but comes on ESPN/ESPN2 from 7 pm – 11:30 pm ET and then concludes the action on PokerGO from 1 am – 3:05 am ET.
Former Main Event champs Chris Moneymaker, Joe Hachem, Ryan Riess, Qui Nguyen, Greg Merson and Greg Raymer will be in the field. ACR pro Michael Loncar commands a stack of 135,800 for the day. Barry Hutter, Jonathan Jaffe, Olivier Busquet and Alex Foxen return with top 10% stacks.
