Xbox Game Pass dropping five games this month
Players should start making preparations to switch to other games
Every month, Microsoft looks at what’s hot and what’s not through the Xbox Game Pass subscription service and decides whether or not certain video games should be dropped. It has now announced the next round of titles to be removed, and gamers will see the changes toward the end of the month. Five games will be departing, so fans need to take advantage of their discount to purchase them now, or get all the achievements they can before they’re gone.
One game is scheduled to be delisted as of June 27. Next Hero will be the first to go after not finding the gamer base Microsoft may have anticipated. It has been reviewed as an average game and hasn’t developed much of a following, so it might not be missed too much.
On June 30, four titles will meet their demise on the platform. Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition, Shadow Complex Remastered, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Zombie Army Trilogy will be relegated to the back-room shelves in favor of other games. However, all five are expected to be available for the Xbox console.
The games will still be available if someone wants to purchase them; they just won’t be available through the Xbox Game Pass subscription. However, since new titles typically are put in place of those that are removed, perhaps something better, more challenging will be introduced.
Game Pass could eventually make its way to the Nintendo Switch. There have been rumors floating around for the past several months about a deal in the works between Microsoft and Nintendo, but nothing has materialized. Microsoft Xbox gaming head Phil Spencer says that he is still open to the idea, but that it currently isn’t a priority.
