Kid Poker slams Shaun Deeb as a poker cheat
The two poker greats have been feuding ever since last year
There has always been a little bit of bad blood between poker pros Daniel Negreanu and Shaun Deeb, but when Deeb essentially called Kid Poker’s then-fiancé, Amanda Leatherman a whore this past January and said the marriage between the two wouldn’t last, things got really ugly. Since then, the gloves have been off and the latest round comes via a staking campaign offered by Allen Kessler. Things have heated up and Negreanu’s frustration has boiled over, leading him to call Deeb a bully and a cheater.
Kessler is offering staking opportunities for his upcoming WSOP performance, as are many players. Deeb called him out for offering the packages, attacking his character, and Negreanu decided to step in. Deeb has said that he is just trying to protect the poker community, but this isn’t the way most within the community, including Kid Poker see it. He stated, “You are just being an a**hole for the sake of being an a**hole. Deep down you know that. It’s who you are.”
Things took off from there, with the two trading verbal jabs back and forth across Twitter. As is usually the case by those who are internally fearful of confrontation, Deeb offered to take to the fight to the “playground,” offering a heads-up showdown to see who was the better poker player – even though being a better poker player doesn’t make someone a better person.
Sean McCormack finally stepped in to try to wave the olive branch between the two, stating, “Ok, stop! This may be my first ruling online. Firstly, c’mon Shaun you should know better. Wives, GFs, fiancés, are off limits. You’re out of line here. Daniel…you speak about bullying, yet bully Shaun in defense calling him a cheat. Both of you start over with some respect.”
Round three (or is it up to 15 already?) should be right around the corner. The show continues.
