Fortnite to receive military-themed upgrades
The updates will come in a soon-to-be-released patch
One of the most popular battle royale games on the planet is going to get a military-style boost. According to Epic Games, Fortnite: Battle Royale could receive military-themed buildings or points of interest soon. The revelation was made yesterday through update patch notes released by the company for the upcoming v8.30 patch.
Epic explains that “new military buildings” will “premiere in Creative before Battle Royale.” The tropical island in Creative is expected to receive a military version and players will have the ability to choose six different military-themed prefabs, new galleries for military numbers, props and lights and eight galleries for team variations.
There are now Reboot Vans added to the map at all major points of interest, and squad members who are eliminated drop their Reboot Cards, which can be collected by other squad members. Those cards remain in the world for 90 seconds after being dropped. If a card is taken to a Reboot Van, the eliminated squad member can return to battle.
In addition to the military changes, Buccaneer’s Bounty has been introduced and will run until April 15. Players will test their skills in Limited Time Modes to complete different challenges in order to win rewards and the spawn rate of Treasure Maps has been increased in order to make the challenges more interesting.
All of the changes introduced in the v8.30 patch are expected to be in use for the Fortnite World Cup Open Qualifiers. That tournament runs this weekend and offers a $1-million prize pool.
